Elevating Playtime
Primary and Intermediate schools: multisports turf for playgrounds. Principal, Donal Mclean wanted a new attractive, inviting, multi sport playing surface replacement for their existing asphalt court. His specification included line markings for hopscotch and netball and a durable, non-abrasive, low maintenance, free draining, all weather surface.
When approached, we developed various CAD designs for consideration. The final design for the required multisports was agreed on as well as a budget and a time frame to work within. A suitable product was developed to satisfy the performance criteria for the required sporting activities and when awarded the contract we quickly produced the required turf complete with the majority of playing lines incorporated during manufacture. We managed the contract from design to completion.
The completed the project has transformed the rather tired looking asphalt court surface into a vibrant all-weather multisports play area; a focal point for the school. Plus, now that sports can be played all year round unrestricted by weather, the playground encourages children to be more active and to play sports.
While there we transformed all play areas old bark surfaces with a landscaping approach. The installation process was simple and the product fitted on a porous base for a mud and damp free surface. We also installed rubber shockpad cushioning beneath the surface to meet critical fall height regulations.
